Lord God,
Deliver Me from my distress when I pray, and answer me when I call out to you. Rescue me from those who lie to my face and tell me what I want to hear, because they desire comfort and are unwilling to speak the truth. Their deceit, whether deliberate or unintentional, is of no help to me, and does not bring glory to you.
Lord, when I look up past the highest hills, to the heavens where you reside, I know my help comes from you, the maker of heaven and earth. You keep me from stumbling and watch over me night and day. You guard my life just as you have always guarded your people, without rest or sleep. You watch over me and stand over me to provide shade for my life. You keep me from the worst evil in this world, though I don’t realize you are doing so, and guide me as I come into your presence and go out to serve.
Lord, it makes me happy to worship you and to gather with your people each week. I love being in your presence to offer you praise, learn from your word, fellowship with your people and receive your blessing. I look forward to praying for your peace to fill the world so that all who love you may be safe and seek your
glory.
I look up to you, Lord, for mercy, knowing you have already been very gracious to me. Yet, I pray you will be kind to me because my soul is troubled, and I need to find peace. Be compassionate I pray, gracious God, otherwise my worries and fears will surely overwhelm me and wash me away. Have mercy on me, or else I die.
If it had not been for you Lord, I would have been swallowed alive by the trials and troubles I have faced. I would have been swept away by my failures and fears than I cannot control. Nevertheless, I am blessed because you have preserved my life and saved my soul from my selfishness and sin.
Lord God, be good to me because I trust in you. Bless my life and lead me by your grace into your presence. Show me your truth and calm my fears that I might trust in you more, and know the peace and assurance that Jesus Christ is the Savior of my soul, so I have nothing to fear.
In his holy and glorious name pray, Amen.
